JHSC Training Ontario
What is Joint Health & Safety Committee Certification?
In Ontario, most workplaces with 20 or more employees are required to have a Joint Health and Safety, or JHSC, Committee. This JHSC Committee must have at least one member that represents the workers and shall be selected by the workers and the other member will represent management. Both the worker member and the management member must be certified.
At least four people are required to be on the JHSC Committee for workplaces with more than 50 employees. Although only 2 members are required to be certified, it is our experience that Joint Health and Safety Committee's will be more effective if all members go through the JHSC Certification Training Program.
