OSG's Equipment Day!
Everyday there are OSG trainers on the road all over Ontario training in many different settings, so you can imagine that there isn’t always opportunity for all the OSG family to get together. However, once a year we have our annual “Equipment Day” here in London at our OSG headquarters where everyone in the organization can get together. We take this time to do a couple different things – all departments meet and share what is going on within their team and discuss upcoming projects, have a delicious BBQ potluck outside and bring in all kinds of equipment like Lift Trucks and Sissors Lifts for everyone to get recertified on. Here is how Patrick, one of our Health & Safety Trainers breaks down the day!
There is never a equipment day, without a meeting. Trainers/ Consultants love meetings. Why? While it is a change to listen, its also another chance to talk in front of an audience, but also to review the new and coming changes to Ontario's Health and Safety Prevention System. Topics include Bill 160 and the new role of the MOL is prevention, OSG's position to be a industry leader in the prevention system, as well as improving the client experience with new services and products throughout Canada. Of particular note, OSG's role to help client achieve compliance with Ontario's Accessibility for Ontarian's Disabilities Act
Lunch: The highlight for the day was the fantastic pot-luck lunch for all staff from OSG. Who made that apple crisp? ;)
After we were full from the awesome potluck we started to retraining of staff. First time operators ensures OSG's ability to remain competent, fresh and aware of the risks our clients face in the use of forklifts, scissor-lifts and booms on a daily basis.
Most importantly, the presentation of the new OSG vision statement. At the heart of this vision is the continued goal to assist companies in keeping their workers free of injuries and illnesses.
